Almost my first trad bird kill
« on: September 24, 2007, 09:53:00 PM »
I came home from work and the sun was coming up.   I could not decide if I wanted to work on some of my sons arrows or get the shotgun and go dove hunting.
I decided to stay at home and finish the arrows.  I was in the garage and observed several doves milling around in my front yard so I decide to give it a shot with my recurve.
I grabbed an old Flu Flu with a broadhead and watched the bird for a short time.
He was just over the hill so he would disappear for a few minutes and then reappear.
The distance was about 30 to 35 yards.  I let the arrow go and I saw feathers fly everywere but the dove flew away.  I thought that the feathers flew off the arrow due to its age.
I walked down the hill to retrieve the arrow and the picture below shows what I found.

Ohh so close.
