my question is
when shooting the new Hoyt Tiburon off the self do you have to built up the self so the arrow is in the centre of the burger button hole or just put a piece of velcro on the self and adjust the nock accordingly

I am shooting one right now off of an elevated rest myself but it has a perfectly radiused shelf if that is how you want to shoot it. It comes with a thick foam and calf hair strike plate  and velcro for the shelf. It doesn't really matter which you choose because you can adjust the tiller to the sweet spot from either position.

I have never measured it. I just played with the limb bolts a little till it felt right at my finger position. Most people let out the top bolt until there is 1/8 to 3/8 difference depending on if you shoot split finger or 3 under.

Have you already purchased the bow? If you do a search for the Tiburon you will find the thread with my first impressions and pics. I also admit I was a bit intimidated by this bow at first because I did not understand all of the functions. Its not all that complicated in practice though. I also upgraded mine with a Strickland plunger rest and a higher wrist grip. I shoot with my hand open and put on a stabilizer to balance the bow out for my grip. Now that I made it my own I am shooting it fairly well.
