Limb bolt knobs??
« on: August 08, 2014, 02:29:00 PM »
Where can I buy some limb bolt knobs?  I don't want the fake antler ones 3 rivers sells. I seen the ones one the Blacktail Web sight. I heard Shaffer sells them but they don't have any pictures on there Web sight. Checked the sponsor classified but didn't see any thing on there.

I made mine using actual antler knobs - just buy the hardward drill the antler and epoxied them in.  They've worked fine.  They aren't perfectly round and symmetrical like the fake ones -- but I wanted real ones.

Buy the antler Rosettes online.  Use a Forstner bit  and right size bolt with hex head.  Use 2 ton epoxy and epoxy them on.  I find the center of the show side of the antler rosettes then follow those lines to the back of the rosettes and where they cross is my center where I drill.  Drill deep enough to hide the hole head of bolt.  I put on vise and as they dry I check to make sure they stay perpendicular to the rosette.

I got these bolts from Brigham54 on that other site. Easy on and easy off. No tools needed. He also has antler burrs and other stuff. I like the knobs, simple enough. You can search his handle on "that other site" and PM him or you can PM me and I will give you the address for his shop.
God bless, José

I have a thread going "show me your limb bolts" and there are a few on there and they say where they got them and who made them if that helps you any.

Bought mine from Schafer.  Was very happy with them.  I wouldn't worry about no pictures.  Schafer is a stand up company.
