Can you heat it to remove the head? With my woodies when I glue on a head sometimes I have to turn it here or there to get it on there balanced. Hot melt serves my needs pretty well for that purpose. I would think JB Weld would mean that at some point of the arrows life I would end up drilling and filing out the inside of heads to re-use it. Though, maybe you can just heat the weld up for a one-time remove.

I don't use JB Weld but I do use epoxy for all my tip mounting.
I've seen lots of folks on here complain of various hot melts failing but I've never seen anyone mention an epoxy failure.
Epoxy is not permanent. Applying heat will break the bond just as it does with hot melt.
Epoxy does have some drawbacks...
It takes longer to cure than hot melt.
You can't heat the head, move it, and then re-melt the glue to re-glue it.
Personally, I'll live with those issues if I get a head that won't come off when I don't want it to come off.

A lot of the hot melt/Ferr-L-tite failure is poor preparation.  You need to clean out the inside of the field point/broadhead.  There may be some oil residue left inside the field point and paint inside the broadheads.  I not only clean out the field point but I use a tap to scar the inside .

I won't say I have never had a point come off but the rarely do.

Before you use epoxy on metal, glue an insert into a scrap piece and wait a few days and try and get it out. Putting heat to aluminum will temper the metal and it can make it brittle.

I've had good luck with the "impact resistant" gorilla glue super glue....until now.  I think it has something to do with either this batch of goldtip shafts, or the brass inserts.  These things keep pulling out?!?!
I use rubbing alcohol to prep both inside of shaft and insert surface....
So, I'm picked up some of the gorilla glue 2-part epoxy. i'll see how this stuff works on these...

Good idea, but like others here, I'm not sure if I want my broadheads on so permanently.

 A long time ago a broadhead I had used hot melt to attach came off in my bow quiver (and wouldn't you know it, it just happened to be the arrow I had just slipped out to shoot the big bear that was a VERY few yards in front of me, LOL!).

Since then, like Jon, I make sure that everything is super clean before attempting a bond with hot melt.

I start by scrubbing the inside of the point/broadhead well with a brush used for cleaning the inside of a gun barrel and acetone, then wipe completely clean (using more acetone with the piece of cloth if necessary).

Then, I also wipe the taper of the arrow lightly once with acetone.

I have never had a problem since.

I just put some brass HIT inserts in some FMJ arrows after reading some recent threads about it.  Tough as nails

Another happy user of JB Weld here for permanent solutions and hot glue for short term or tuning.
