Cabela's Wooltimate Windshear
« on: August 26, 2014, 01:53:00 PM »
Hey guys, been looking to buy some of this stuff since I've seen the good reviews on here and other sites.  I'm trying to figure out how the sizing runs.  I'm 6'1' with a slender build. Weight 180.  Usually wear a 33" waist 32" legs and large jackets.  I hunt in MS so it doesn't get too cold so I'll probably just have a thin layer under these.  Let me know if any of y'all have purchased these items.  Thanks a lot!

***Also, I'm either getting the Outfitter Camo or the new Western Zonz camo pattern.  It's hard to tell how dark or light these two are online. I hunt mostly cedar thickets and hardwood thickets.

I just bought the pants Saturday. They seem to run true to size I take a 38 but bought 40's as thats all they had in store. There are straps on the waist to pull them tight. My Dad bought the jacket and went one size up for laying. Seems like a good product.

Love it and I really like the outfitter camo. When I bought my jacket In a 2x because I have broad shoulders and longer arms but the belly of the jacket is really big so I ended up taking it back and getting an XL and the sleeves are a tad short but it's fits great other than that and warm! I jumped In front of my trail cam one day to see what the pattern looked like and it blended in really we'll with my background

Jacket, vest and pull over seem to run true to size. Pants seem to run a little small. I'm 6'1 and go 220. XL tops, originally bought 36" pants which is my size. Returned them for 38" and they fit perfectly. Buy your jacket size and if you're slender like you said 34" pant should be comfortable. Great stuff.

i was wearing mine last year, pants with just longhandles underneath, and longhandle shirt under a camo shirt.  I was toasty warm. I find its quiet and snuggly warm even in a good breeze.

I did have a snow camo jacket on over them just incase I climbed down to go sneaking around in the snow. ive killed a few deer wearing mine. blood washes out easily.

JCS,
I hunt in north MS and I really enjoy my windshear jacket.  Quiet, cuts the wind and easily repels a light drizzle.  I layer according to the temp and wind, usually a wick layer, fleece shirt and the jacket if it's really cold.

Love mine.  I have a few different pieces in Outfitter Camo and find them all to be great cold weather gear.  I prefer this over the Cabelas Berber.

I'm close to 6'1" and weigh 175, and I have the L jacket. It's a little too big for bowhunting IMO. I want more though, very warm and a great pattern.

I'm 6'1" about 200 and have a xl jacket. When it's cold, 10f and below I can slip my windshear sweater under it and stay pretty good. I like the outfitter pattern.

Go to a Cabela store if one is close and try it on. I found it bulky and hot and ordered their Micro product.

I'm 5' 11" 185#s and bought the vest in XL to try out.  Been pleased with it and its big enough to layer under it.  May could have went with a LG and gotten by.

John, what part of MS are you from?  I'm down on the coast in Vancleave.

Well, I received my Cabela's package.  The large jacket is perfect.  The 34" pants fit a little funny to me, but I'll get used to it.  They are just a little tight in the thigh (and I have chicken legs ha). If I got the 36's they would be too big.  Can't wait to try them out.
South MS, I'm originally from New Albany, but I'm down around Jackson way now.

my pants fit snug on my thighs to, but not to tight.  a pair of suspenders will help keep them from creeping down.
I just figured I had fat thighs...but I guess they are made for skinny folks.

I had to cut the windshear liner out of my pants-they were way too noisy for stalking even a deaf animal! Fortunately the liner comes out easy.   :archer2:
