Kodiak Mag stories
« on: August 29, 2014, 11:07:00 PM »
After my recent poll I ordered a 60# Kodiak mag and am anxiously awaiting its arrival. Let's here some hunting tales and see some photos from the last 40 years with the Kodiak mag!

One of my favorite bows.My mentor Jack Bell from Monroe La. started me bowhunting. All he used were K mags for him and his two sons.So of course I had to have one.
October 1976 I made a trip to his camp called "Bell Haven" beautiful patch of woods in North Louisiana.First afternoon I climbed a tree
and stood on a branch and leaned against another branch.(would never to that again or si   nce). Before dark 3-deer were heading towards the field and straight under me.My first shot at a deer with a bow was a hit and we recovered her the next morning. His youngest son also killed his first that weekend also.

My text and pics got messed up but I think you will understand cannot correct it.The four bows behind him  are K-mags.

TFG : The K-mag is a top of the line short production bow in my book . Bought my first one in 1973 and shot lots of critters with it ; as the years have gone by theres been an array of customs . The bow I hunted turkey's with this last spring ; a 1970's K-mag at 45 lb's and it worked just fine . I will be hunting deer with it this fall ; they are great little bows . Sadly most all pictures we had where lost in a flood . good luck and good hunting

I gave an armadillo one HELL of a headache with my K-Mag and a blunt tipped arrow last year, but that wasn't what killed it...   ;)

I got my Kodiak Magnum from a garage sale for $5.00 (yes I paid using a Lincoln lol) My grandpa and I made a string for it and I've been shooting it ever since. With it being a shorter bow than my Kodiak as well as being lighter to draw I have been using it as my aerial shooting bow. I have attempted to take teal, rails and a variety of big ducks with just feathers to show for the ducks but was able to take a single rail.

I do not have any pictures of anything I have taken with it but have video of some of my self thrown targets.
