Hey guys, I came on here last year, just starting out with some questions. My bow is a bear grizzly, 50 lbs. I had been shooting heritage legacy 150s. For some reason, I had to go with 250 grains up front to get good flight. After reading many posts by others on their setups, I couldn't figure out why I needed so much weight while others we're doing fine with around 125 or so.
I put the bow down for a few months and recently picked it back up. To my surprise, I now am able to shoot the same arrows, with much less weight, and achieve great flight.
I have no idea what has changed as I did little to no practice for months. Only thing I can think of is this.... In the beginning, I over bowed myself which led to bad form, plucking, and so on. After my break, I started to focus more on a consistent draw and release. I also noticed I now cant the bow for some reason.
Another note....since I shoot alone, I really need to be careful about going slow and not shooting too much, too quickly. My accuracy suffers as I get tired and frustration sets in.
Any thoughts from you veterans? Thanks.
