My thunderstick iii is awesome.  Only longbow I've been able to shoot so far.  48# @28 64" long.  Got it from a fellow tradganger. Not the prettiest, but a performer.  I'm going to replace the grip with beaver tail and may put on snakeskin and new quiver.

I have 2 that I feel are excellent longbows. First is a PLX Widow I got from Big Ed, next is a Goshawk that Chad Holm made for me. One is 66" [BW] and the other is 64", both low 40's# at 29". Both bows are smooth, dead in the hand and quick.

ACS CX 64" and 50# @ 28. It is all I shoot these days; that and two identical back ups.

Only reason to need forgiving is weakness in your form...spend way more time thinking about how to improve your form and way less thinking about how to compensate with equipment...by usual standards there is not a lot forgiving about most selfbows and I have seen some excellent work done with them

To me a reflex/deflex is most forgiving add in a forward riser and I think that is about as forgiving as you can get.  For me that all came together with James Berry's Taipan - very forgiving and jsut seems to point an arrow very accurately.  You still have to do your part no matter what bow you shoot but this design helps minimize minor form flaws
Everything has a price - the more we accept, the more the cost

My Northern Mist Shelton 67" is by far the most forgiving longbow I ever shot. I think it has to do with the amount of string follow Steve designed this bow to have. Some string follow bows get complaints from being a little slow but this NM is fast.

For me its the JD Berry Taipan. Mine is 66" for my 28" inch draw. The grips is just perfect for my hand. The bow draws smooth and casts a woody nice and flat... I love it. the only thing I would change it to get it in a take down version  :)

Question is :
What you do wrong and you need forgiveness ?

Correct that and shoot what ever you want    :jumper:

thats the cool thing about traditional archery notice everyone above has their own opinions when it comes to "the most forgiving bow"

the most forgiving longbow I ever shot was my JD Berry vixon because it just doesn't care about form or if I'm shooting perfect that day it just hits right there for me..

recurve, is my palmer classic I can go from shooting a selfbow for a week straight to the palmer and  easily hit 3" groups at 20yds shooting true instinctive tghe first volley of arrows..

Selfbow, mattingly hide bound.
