Try to keep this one alive. No elk again this year but I did make meat with death in the fall, rawhide backed osage.

That's a pretty bird, Jack! Good shootin!

Pretty nice looking bow and footed arrow, too.

Thanks guys it was about 12yds and 12 feet high in old snag. It was last day of hunt and I figured no guts no glory used a hardwood footed poplar shaft with homemade broad head like the one in photo. I had lost my judo point shaft earlier in the day on a just missed shot on another bird, I had some feathers fly off bird but no bird and lost arrow. So used broad head shaft that I had carried all week. The birds and elk liked this drainage.

One more for you. My Antelope blind and gear including goat rawhide backed hickory board bow.

It is a European book that was translated into English. It is European bows from Neolithic to present, with several authors. It is a pretty cool book have only made it thru couple of chapters. Very informative. I got it at a Woodcrafters store in Loveland CO., of all places. Also found the BBIV there as well.

Im gonna try this year. Im  shooting an osage selfbow I made 60 lb at 28, with a deer hide quiver I made from my 1st traditional kill. My arrows are wood but I bought spine and weight matched shafts and I'm shooting steel grizzly heads. So arrows aren't super primitive. The fletchings are turkey wing feathers from turkey's I killed tho.
