Fletched arrows grouping left
« on: September 22, 2014, 08:59:00 PM »
Okay I was shooting really well out to 20 yards, and getting better at 25,the next morning I go out to shoot and no matter what I do my arrows group left of where I shoot, could this be a brace height issue....?

Sure, could be.  Try increasing it an eighth of an inch and see what happens.  You can always go back if it doesn't change point of impact.  Could also be something in your form.  Try one thing at a time and see what happens.

Is your bow cant the same?  Changing the can't of your bow can change impact.

Side plate changed?  Arrow is kicking off.

Release the same? Not plucking are you?

Since you asked about brace height... did you lower the brace height lately. Lowering the brace height will make your arrows group left.

Is the string shot in well? If so, the brace height shouldn't change. Sounds like it could be a form issue. Make sure you are keeping your bow arm up and still until after the arrow hits. Canting the bow excessively will also cause me to shoot left. So will a stiff bow arm and fighting to build back tension. This is assuming you haven't changed anything. Hope this helps.

Make sure you don't tip your head to meet the string as you anchor. That will make you shoot left.

Always draw to anchor and never move your head to meet your draw. That might help things out.

Shoot 2 bare shafts and see what's going on. If your bare shaft flies well but still impacting left? Then you have an alignment issue in your form or you are peeking(raising you head) at the arrow flight before the arrow clears the bow.

I do think sometimes I do tip my head, the reason I say that is because on a couple occasions the string hit the tip of my nose upon release.....lol

Check and make sure that your anchor is tight against where ever you hold to.

I had the same problem Sunday. Took about a hour to find the culprit. Changed to heavier field tip. Nope. Go back to original. Checked brace height. Good/same. String nock still in place. Same arrows I got dialed in 4 days before. Just kept shooting, maybe a really hosed release, man am I grasping for something, Check the cant of the bow, check. Anchor point same, even video'd, Check. Finally , Finally. MY grip! My grip was not the same from 4 days ago. Why did or would it change, who knows and why??? Anyway got my grip back and 3 arrows, 3 in dia on 15 yd tgt ,. Yea
