So I sold it of to the little guy and myself that we would go look for some Skwerl out in a new piece of woods I had not ventured before. I have been dying to get this eight year old version of me off into the woods for some time.
We sent out early in the afternoon, as not to disturb others morning or evening plans of a hunt, spent 4 hours and maybe as many miles venturing throughout the briars and oaks, up and down rolling hills out to the railroad tracks and back
We had a great time, after realizing early on, Skwerls weren't going to cooperate with our plan, we started with a road apple at 5yrds and worked our way up a really good shot at 10... Little Bear granpa sent out for Last year's birthday did Great!
Think it will be time for a stick bow like dad here soon. Never seen a little guy so happy, can wait to get him out where we can throw a couple Arrows at Skwerls... He was really not doing good with the idea we had to let the deer go, sitting by the railroad tracks, because they weren't in our approved hunting area. But was certain to tell the tail to all that would listen, once we got home.
