Tension on the string and a fickle wind
« on: October 09, 2014, 10:59:00 AM »
Went today and sat in a friends box blind, what a beautiful morning. No flashlight to get there, the moon was huge and bright. Had a deer blow at me on the way in. At 7:30 I saw 2 or 3 deer headed my way but they just did not continue. Then at 8:30 I see 2 deer moving towards me. I watch them come and seem to commit to the path of travel........I get ready. Bow up, arrow holder off, tension on the string. And then at 30 yards it happens...I look at my wind feather in front of the blind and it's going in circles. They didn't spook but they left slowly and stiff legged, they knew something was not right. I keep this up and a deer is going to trip and fall on one of my arrows...........   :biglaugh:

It's one of those things that is aggrevating, frustrating, amazing and comical all at the same time.

Similar thing happened to me yesterday morning. Had a spike at 15 yards facing me... all at once he stomps, whirls and runs like a race horse straight away from me.

The wind seems to be the toughest part to overcome.

Good luck!
