Dakota shooters
« on: October 09, 2014, 12:02:00 PM »
I have a question for those who shoot a Rick welch dakota. I have one coming (hopefully very soon) and am considering shooting it three under. Most bows I have shot are incredibly loud shooting three under. Rick assured me the bow would be quiet, but before I start shooting my widow three under to get ready, how many of you can give me some insight.

Did you order the bow tillered for three-under?  You can make it work either way, but it might be quieter if it's tillered for that style, rather than split.

It should work, then.  I don't know why bows seem louder shot 3-under, but most do.  I think form has a lot to do with it; if you have good form and a relaxed drawing hand, the bow will be quieter, but that style does seem to be louder for some reason.  Lots of guys use it and kill deer though, so I guess it's quiet enough.

I had one. Wish I had it back. I shoot 3 under. Killed plenty of deer with it. It will be quiet.

Never owned one, but I have shot one, and it was fast.  I don't remember a thing about how loud it was, though, and I don't shoot 3-under.

I have an SBD string on mine and I shoot 3 under. The bow is extremely quiet and accurate.
