Longer Limbs for a Black widow MAIII?
« on: October 10, 2014, 11:36:00 AM »
I am wanting either a 62 or 64" bow and currently have 60" bow.  IS the riser longer on a 62" bow or are the limbs actually longer?

Black Widow almost always answers the phone when you call during biz hours, so give them a buzz @ (417) 725-3113. So far as I know the PMA limbs work just great but do not fit exactly right.

They still make it...it's called the PMA III now that they use CNC. There are probably more MA's out there than any other traditional bow with the obvious exception of various Bear models. It's a great bow.

If I have read right they can upgrade your riser to accept the new limbs. There was nothing wrong with the MA111, BW went to CNC and had to make some changes. Do not be fooled you have an inferior design. Do not be fooled into believing CNC bows and limbs are sub standard either. The machine only cuts out the rough shape, there is still a ton of hand work involved. Those of us that have been to the clinics have seen the crew work.

I have a MAII that I had updated, I am very pleased. I wish I would have had it done sooner.

you might put an ad in the classifieds as a "want to buy " WTB .... or someone might want to trade you a heavier bow/limbs for your lighter one.

Your 53#'r will kill anything in North America, the MA series is my favorite BW

Good luck

I will back up what Elken said... #53 will kill anything in North America. If you shoot it well I do not see a need to add weight to your limbs...

I have a #45@28" and it has taken a good bit of game and it is an old dacron string frost model....

Yes, the Widow Guys can make your bow work with the CNC limbs if you want new ones.....

I guess I am just itching for something a little more after reading the heavy draw weight thread.  I am satisfied with my #53, just wanted to try a little more.
