I'm seeing that right now due to 1200 acres of standing corn. A good percentage of the deer just stay in the corn. Why leave? Cover, lots of puddles and wet spots, plenty of food....but I am hunting the corners, which are thankfully all mature oaks dripping with acorns. Right now, pre rut, this secondary food source is getting quite a bit of activity. Even deer crave a change of pace in their diet.
I would say find the "edges" of your spot. And an edge with a food source should draw at least SOME activity. Good luck!
