It sure is tough to make a decision at home for a "trophy" only and then be out and have something come along that puts the "resolve" to the test.
The key for me is not to be disappointed with the animal I kill. As in, "but I was going to wait for a big one"...
I've eaten the tag soup waiting too long and as we all know, that taste leaves something to be desired.
I like the "depends on the day" comment. First light of the first day a fella might make any sort of disappointing decisions. The no meat freezer, last day scenario is to be avoided at all costs, though.
