THANK YOU - Rod Jenkins, Legends Bows and the Barkley's
« on: October 13, 2014, 12:43:00 AM »
Just wrapped up a weekend with Rod Jenkins in N. California. We had a great time and I met a BUNCH of Fantastic folks (some of whom may still be driving home)!!!

I wanted to post a BIG THANK YOU  to...

Rod Jenkins - for coming out and sharing his knowledge with 11 good guys, a lovely lady and one caveman named Mike (Those of you who were there, feel free to decide on your own which "Mike" that label fits best).

Mike Rash of Legends Bows - For putting this all together and making it happen.

The Barkley Family (including your pup) - for hosting the clinic at their residence and allowing us to crawl all over the beautiful lawn!

and

All the fine folks who attended the class and tolerated all of my questions!

This was money well spent and that's even before the course material was presented by Mr. Jenkins! If you get a chance to go to one of Rod's clinics, jump on it with an open mind and you'll have a GREAT time. The best thing about a live class is the ability and glean some extra detail behind some of the topics covered in the MOBB DVD's and direct answers to individual questions. I now have a much deeper understanding of what I "thought" I knew from the DVD's. The form observation/suggestion work was excellent too (I know he probably could have spent a couple of weeks working on fixing me alone, but Rod was kind enough to fit everyone in)!

THANKS AGAIN GUYS... I HAD A BLAST!

Mike

PS - Look for the report from Mike Rash in a few days... I'm sure it will be worth the read!!!
In the wind, he's still alive...

And I want to thank Rod Jenkins for coming all the way from NC out to CA. to try and teach us....It was an informative class, A lot to think about and put into practice....
And Mike Rash of Legends bows and his pretty side kick, for getting every thing set up....
And the Barkley's for their hospitality and yes there poor lawn took a beating....
And it's always a pleasure meeting other Trad Gangers and Archers....

Yes we did all have a great time. I will be posting some pictures maybe by tonight. Im taking Rod to San Francisco today for a play day before he flies home to AL. The idea was we were going to Yosemite Nation Park but do to all the fires there the smoke would not make for a good visit this trip. I also want to thank the Barkleys (gapmaster)for volunteering their home and yard for us. Got to go, we are off to the big city.

I was there, and what a terrific weekend Rod and Mike set up.
Special thanks to Rod for his insight and his terrific teaching skills. He actually makes it look simple.

Mike at Legend's Bows: you put on a carefully orchestrated event and it went by flawlessly. Major kudos; looking forward to checking out the IBO event you help put together here in CA.

Special thanks to the Barkley's for some old-school hospitality!

And to all the other 'classmates': It was a pleasure to meet you all and learn from you all (come on down to San Fran to shoot sometimes).

Grazie,
Marco

I have to say I was not sure what to expect going into Rods clinic. My confidence was from all the folks I know that have been simply amazed after attending Rods clinic. I have had some great coaching early on in my life like 30 years ago. I have battled shoulder injuries and before that had a great shooting courier. After the first day of Rods clinic he had me rethinking the way I looked at my personal shooting. He is a master at how he can transmit information to his students. He has a few props and drills that will let you self check yourself. We had folks in this clinic from the arrow slinger to the world class pro's. We all came away with the excitement to see where we will go from here in our shooting.
If you have ever thought about doing a clinic with Rod don't pass up a opportunity. Its the best money you will ever invest on yourself.

It was a great time.
Thank you Mike Rash for organizing such an excellent program, and thank you Mr. Jenkins for you excellent advice, your time and patience. I would also like to thank everyone who attended for being so polite, kind and considerate. I could not have wished for a better group of guys and gals to be around my home. I truly hope I have the chance to visit with you all again sometime. You are all welcome to come by anytime you are in the area.

Rods class is excellent. I've been shooting a very long time and have been fortunate to be surrounded by some great archers who all live within a pretty short driving distance from my home. Through all the years of taking lessons and getting great advice from outstanding shooters, Rod showed me things about myself I had no idea existed, things nobody else ever showed me. Besides just being a fun time and hanging around good people, if you listen to what he has to say and put it to use I think you can save yourself years of grief and reach great goals far sooner than if you tried it on your own as I did. I am so glad I got to meet this guy and spend quality time talking with him. Well worth the time to invest in yourself with an exceptional archery coach. Alot of people might try to claim they are archery coaches, but this guy is the "Real Deal". No imitations here. ( and we all need a good coach). Thank you Mr. Jenkins.

Once again, we all only got this opportunity because Mike Rash took the time and effort to make things happen for us here on the West Coast. Without that effort, we would all still be reading about Mr. Jenkins on the forums and wishing we could attend a class someday. Thanks Mike and Mr. Jenkins. If you readers get the chance, make sure you attend Rod's class. You won't regret it.

Yep.  Loved the comradeship and shared talk.  I learned so much from new friends.  Rod is down home, ah shucks friendly.  Works well when coupled with clear and world class instruction.  I am hoping to get bunch of trad shooters to lure Rod out to San Diego in the spring.  Shout out to Mike Rush for organizing the event.  I was so glad to get a chance to shoot some of his bows --Legends Bows.  Top end for smooth, quiet and spot-on accurate.
