bow holder (treestand) any good ones?
« on: September 28, 2007, 11:57:00 AM »
HiGang:
In a treestand, I like to have my bow upright, slightly off to the right, in a bow holder.

Any suggestions for holders that work really well, for a recurve?
(I'm looking for something better than I currently use)

Thanks.

I am using a swing arm bow holder that is made by gorilla treestands. I have tried various stand mounted ones and various other screw in ones and this seems to work the best. I use a toothpick arrow holder and bow is right there (upright and in position).

Lone Wolf makes a good one for their stands.

Blackhawk, I have a Lone Wolf stand (new) which is why I want to upgrade to a better bow holder, but that grommet attachement looks like it would only work with the wider compound bows.

Am I wrong?  (don't show this question to my wife!!)

Rich: Go to Wal Mart and get a Gorilla bow holder. I just went to the local Wally World and bought all they had.

I should add that I have a Lone Wolf Climber that does not hold any of my bows properly. I did tape (fleece) up one of the side holes and was able to jam one of my longbows in there but it was precarious and also too close to my body to be comfortable. The built in one was a lost cause.

Lone wolf makes a holder for the compounds and another for the recurve. I like mine.
