I had one of Fred's curved limb bed bows. It shot great, I'd like to have another.

Beautiful bow, but I'm confused.  Is that a Bighorn Bowhunting Co. (G.Fred Asbel's old company) Bighorn or is it made by someone else?

Very nice bow - somehow I got a feeling you are going to have a lot of adventures with that bow - just comes across in your posts   :clapper:    :clapper:    :clapper:

I also had several Bighorns over the years.  This looks to be one of Big Jim's Desert Bighorn bows.  Two different creatures.

Very nice looking bow!

Guys, I think this is Big Jims Desert Bighorn, not a Bighorn that G Fred designed.

Folks, this is the BigJim Desert Bighorn. As fine as any recurve bow that I have ever shot. It will be my go to bow for some time as I am developing quite a feel for it. I have a longbow I'm waiting on to be built and not in no hurry for it to get here now! It probably won't get shot much!

Good luck I have 2 of them with a lot of MoJo and gorgious wood combos you should love your bow. Both of mine at 56" they are slammers all tricked up and full gloss. Big Jim makes this bow it's his recurve model.

Did some more shooting today and tuning to get the bow perfect for next month. Played around with the brace some more and now at 8 1/4", arrow tipped with 175gr for total arrow weight of 497gr. This quieted the bow way down and arrow flight was deadly. Shot for 20 min. to make sure I found what I was looking for and my setup is good to go! Thought I was going to get away with the 150gr tips but, this combo is way better. I have some Zwickey double bevel No Mercies that will now be at the business end of my arrows!   :D
