All wood and/or horn-sinew composite bowyers
« on: October 28, 2014, 10:11:00 AM »
I've been out of the loop for too long.  A friend of mine is wanting a "traditional" composite bow and is considering an Asian-style horn/sinew bow or a bamboo-backed bow of various profiles.

I've sent him a few links so far, but figured I'd ask they archers who haven't taken a LOA from bows, so...

What US bowyers are currently crafting quality natural composite bows?

Two are Ed Scott and Pine Hollow's Mike Clancey. Mike is a sponsor here.

Mike Yancey at Pine Hollow builds as pretty a sinew backed bow as I've seen. I can also say they preform very, very, well.
Bowhunting is a passion, not an obsession. Its just hard for my wife to tell the difference sometimes.

For an Asian style composite bow the natural choice is Lukas Novotny of Saluki Bows.  He is a master and the bows are functional art.  His glass and bamboo bows are also outstanding.  There is a dual shelf 60" 55# Ibex for sale on LWall currently and a left hand 60" 50# Ibex for sale on our listings here (could be used RH with a thumb ring).  The Ibex is a hoot!

James Parker (huntworthyproductions)builds incredible Asiatic composite bows in any style your friend would like. James is a very nice guy and very knowledgeable in all forms of archery and specifically Asiatic horn bows. He is a master knapper also among other things.
