Well, as I went to climb up my stand, I pulled my arrow off my string to put it back in my hip quiver. To my agast the back of my Massai head touch my string!!! A single thread was cut! I decided to chance it.

I saw lots of movement but long story short I blew a 13yd shot when a small buck ducked my arrow. I don't have silencers on the (old) string and at the shot it seemed a good deal louder than normal.

I picked a spot, at least I think I did. So it is time for a new string. The local bow shop has some generic long bow strings but I'm thinking of buying one from a Tradgang sponsor next summer.

Sadly, till I get the new string it's back to the "training wheels". Hopefully can get one tomorrow.

tell me your bow length and I will help you keep that compound out of sight.

Here are a few pictures of the strings I make.

***I hope it is okay that i posted this here.  I know I am not a "sponsor", but I am also not selling this string.  I am giving it to him. I just wanted him to trust my work***

This time get two strings!

Now you know why the Royal family always has a "heir and a spare."

Gosh, you need to learn to make strings!  Not hard at all and a big part of the joy of traditional archery is being able to make some of your own gear. The "generic" string should work for you until a possibly better one can be obtained--or better yet, take Daniel up on his offer.  Daniel, nice offer.

If this string up here isn't up to snuff I might just take you up on that! I need to learn to make strings.

Albert, Daniel's offer is a great one, FREE!

Besides, we need to help the new generation builders experience their trade!

Soon to be  Sponsors!    :bigsmyl:
