Coincidence?
« on: November 09, 2014, 08:51:00 AM »
Years ago my wife had a bow sent from Michigan, where she grew up, to where we live in Idaho. She had told me about an "old longbow" that was her dads that was residing in her basement growing up. I said tell your Mom to ship it out and I would pay postage.

Near perfect 1960 Kodiak. So I shoot the thing once in a while over the next ten years, its a great shooter but I have always shot 60 plus pound take downs with  mass weight so this ends up being more of a novelty. Being feather light in hand and 47#@28.

Last year my wife points out to me that this 60' Kodiak is the only thing she has of her late Dad. So I decided although he was not a hunter and probably shot very few arrows out of this I would pack this during Deer season and try to take a Deer with it.

I made up some wood shafts and began shooting it, when an add runs on craigslist about a old bow and 5 dozen arrows for $80. When it rains it pours.Another old Kodiak and 4 boxes never opened, Bear arrows all with greenies. The rest were assorted wood arrows. 6 of these were a matched set with greenies in a separate box.

So I try these six no name loose arrows. I put new nocks on them and they fly like darts.

Well I am sitting in a tree the other day with my new found friend hanging there and I look at the cresting on the arrows........

Some folks say there is no "coincidence".  Things happen for a reason.

Shoot straight.

Wow...love it!

BUT, I want to see the rest of this setup.  Those models are fantastic lookers and performers.

Really neat stuff..........show us more!
