Yeah, full hands but not full freezer. Oh well, there's always pigs!
I made the call to graywolf woolens and having them make me a "special" shirt to put under my non layered wool. I have a windstopper shirt about 10 years old that is a little small, but when I wear it under my wool, I can reduce layering by two articles...just working on next year.
Here in GA, too often I could hunt shirtless :(
Anyway, the pigs are starting to come in good and we are going to start to focus on them in Dec.
My buddy/partner Preacher was called to aid another hunter in loading a pig over the weekend. When he arrived at the enormous dead pig, he noticed another pig at least as big walking back in forth through the headlights.
Seems the hunter shot a "in heat" sow and her boy friend was unwilling to leave the area.
Preacher retrieved his trusty "BigJim" Buffalo bow and shot the boar at close range as it advanced to him taking the big boy in the crease and angling back. Shortly after, Preacher made an attempt to retrieve his boar only to find out that the pig was unwilling to get in the truck....as of yet, no dead pig, no circling buzzards. Shoot and release!
Keep tuned as I will be starting a thread on this soon. We will be selling pig hunts for Jan - May of 2015.
Thanks ya'll, BigJim
