What bow holder in the tree?

Really? A traditional bowhunter would buy a bow holder?  I use a bit of para cord and sometimes a stick ive cut onsite and fashion something that will work..you're sitting in a tree for hours and hours you'll have time to figure something out....I promise!

Ok so I was in my stand today and looked at my bow holder and thought...hey here's an answer to that tradgang question!

I sewed a little triangular shaped pocket onto the cuff of my insulated pants, the bottom limb rests in it.  Then on the breast  of my jacket ive sewn on a piece of para cord.  I tie this around the string and under my arrow nock with a plain shoelace bow knot.
 Since I use double string nocks the paracord pulls the arrow up an keeps it tightly on the string.

The bow rests at an angle across my chest and all I have to do is reach up untie the string and the bow is in my hand.  It's a super way to hold your bow and theres very little movement to get it up and ready to shoot.

I use the screw in bow holders that are 2 piece and swivel in the middle but I don't really like how they stick between the string and limb when trying to lift bow off hanger.

Take a piece of garden hose to slide over the thin hook end of your 2 piece swivel bow holder.  The larger diameter will keep the string & bow limb from sticking...tippit

I pretty much agree with calgarychef.  What's this bow-holder nonsense?  It's called your hand.  

If you can't hold it, or lay it on your lap, get outta the tree and start actually hunting instead of sitting on your duff like an office worker!

Since I hunt federal land and it illegal to screw anything into trees I use on attached to my climber

The long, swing-arm type scew in holder described above by several others is what I have found the best for a non-stand mounted holder.  The cheap little rubber coated screw in hooks work, but you will find rather quickly that all kinds of contortions are needed to pivot around and get to that bow when it's hung so close to the tree, and you will find this out at the worst possible moment, as in when a buck appears at close range out of nowhere.  The little third hand holders work great mounted on the stand, although one needs to experiment to find the best possible placement for them before getting up in the tree.

A hook can do other duties than hold bows for us lazy tree stand types. If I climb and don't want to work up a sweat I don't wear my outer wear and put that on in a tree after I pull it up. A hook is mighty handy to hang that bow on when you are doing this. They are great to hang quivers and packs too. And sometimes I just like to hang the bow up and answer a call of nature.

Oh, I dropped a bow out of a tree last year when it was on my lap and I was getting something out of a quiver pouch.

A hook to me makes all the sense in the world and lots of uses for them. Mine are cheap cup hooks from the hardware store.

A cheap one! Don't know the brand! It pivots though and sticks out about a foot total. Only drawback is the screw isn't very sharp and I have to make a pilot hole with one of my steps.
