bear super grizzly

Does anyone know anything about this bow?  I am having a hard time finding any info on it.  What years was it made?  how is it to shoot?

I bought my first recurve in the fall of 1972. It was a red striped bear super grizzly and had a Victor decal on top of the factory finish. (I know the "Victor" was on top, but it rubbed off and the silkscreens for Bear are still intact after 35 years.

I used it for about fifteen years, then put it away until three years ago. I got a new string, a half dozen gold tip carbons, and started up again.

The bow is still a great shooter. I never really found out what was "super" about it, but my guess is that they wanted to market it with the Super Ks and Super Magnums. That sales pitch worked, because in 1972 I couldn't afford a SuperK and bought what I thought was the best bow for my budget.

Super Grizz's were made with futurewood impregnated lams, unlike the Griz with just maple lams, in fact they are slightly slower because of the added lamination weight. They are still great bows with a little added fluff over the orgional working man's hunting bow the Griz was/is.
