Handle/grip styles?

Can someone explain with pics high wrist, medium wrist, low wrist, locator grip? Thanks.

I don't have pics on hand to show, and this may not be much help to you, but..... G. Fred Asbell's books on instinctive shooting all demonstrate and explain the differences very well.

If you take a look at some different bows, RMSGear's website is a good place to see different types, the more perpendicular to the bow the grip is, the higher the grip is.

  Locator grips are usually on a longbow riser. Nothing more than an indicator where to put the web between thumb and forefinger.

  The lower the grip,the lower the position of your bow hand. Medium grip seems to be the most common in recurve shooters.

here are some of the long bow styles. You'll also find that different bowyers classify High / Med / & low wrist grips differently. I would classify both those risers on the right of the drawing above as a "High wrist" and "Medium High" & the low would be "Medium".....


The low wrist Pistol grip would be like the  ones like the pictures below....

This is what i would classify as "High wrist grip" after the heel goes up 45 degrees.
