Grains per inch of paracord/weedwacker cord
« on: December 11, 2014, 09:38:00 AM »
I was wondering if anyone who has stuffed arrows with paracord, weed wackercord or some sort of string etc...knew the grains per inch of those various materials.  I am trying to make an arrow heavier and I do not own a scale.  But would like to know the ballpark of where I am at when I do start stuffing arrows.  If anyone knows the weight of such materials when stuffing arrows would be a great help!

Thanks,

Kevin

Sorry, don't have an answer, but I would think one manufacturers product would weigh  differently from anothers. A grain scale is a very useful thing to have, first one I bought was a small model from harbor freight for around $10, worked just as good as my $150 rcbs.

yep i would agree, a grain scale is a necessary tool if youre gonna tinker with arrows.
i like to use the weight tubes for carbons. consistent gpi and fit.
wish i could answer your question, just too many variable i think.
if you havent tried yet, i'd do a search and youll find the answer in there somewhere.
