just missed

The wind is still, total quit. You can hear the chipmunks running through the leaves and the turkeys off in the field somewhere. Its half hour sunset and my day has been a bust, until I hear a splash and crunch behind me in the creak. Im on the edge of a crp field so I cant see through the tall grass , but I can hear him. I stand up and knock an arrow, I have tnsion on the string as the noise gets closer and closer.  The light is dimming and my heart is starting to pound. There he is, a beautiful specimen.  He is stand 25 yards out and stops at the trail I came in on...oh no he sniffs and looks around. Standing behind a tree he seems cautious,  after a few minutes he de ides it safe and slips into the trees with me. Walk pause sniff, walk pause sniff...walk pause Zip, arrow away. 35 yard shot and  the arrow looks true enough,  he jumps up, did I hit him its now kinda dark. I hear him run off and stop then run again. I decide to wait a few minutes then climb down. I find the arrow no blood however on the previously dry leaves is a large puddle of pee...I missed but scared the pee out of that coyote!! ;-)

Yote! Haha, good try! I have been wanting to shoot a yote with my stick for years, and all I have is a couple misses!
