Gold tip nocks
« on: December 21, 2014, 07:13:00 PM »
i had read several posts awhile back about nocks on gold tip arrows breaking.  Just to be safe I replaced mine with Easton S nocks.  I was just wondering if this is still an issue.  I shoot the 1535 blems and they have Orange nocks.  Thanks for your help.

I've only ever had one Goldtip nock break and that was years ago. I believe the problem was resolved, but I've just never liked Goldtip nocks, always switch them out with Easton Supernocks.

I had a customer blow up a set of limbs earlier this year with Gold Tip nocks. They said they fixed it a long time ago, but I wouldn't chance it.

I have been shooting GT arrows with GT nocks for a long time and never had any issue. The only nocks I have ever had break (and there were only a couple) could not be blamed on the nock because they were on arrows that had been thru thousands of shots and could have been hit by other arrows.

I haven't had any break on me,because I prefer an Easton 3D Super nock for my standard carbon and uni-bushing aluminum.I have friends that have had them break. And had them replaced and some of the replacements have broken. For me I just won't chance it,not really my favorite nock any way.

I have been taking the GT nocks off because white is preferred color. But I have been using the Orange ones on my sons carbons with no issues. He shoots a 50# compound.
I do check my arrows including nocks if I hit something hard like rock.

I also switch them out to Easton 3D super nocks. Never liked how small the GT nocks were.

Two years ago I had an issue with some that I shot off of a high performance, high poundage compound.
GoldTip replaced them and I have not had an issue since then.
GoldTip remains my favorite carbon arrow.

Yes, a couple of years ago, they had some issues, but they have since taken care of that. I personally never had any issues and if my customers did, they didn't let me know...well there was one...but he missed so often that I don't know that we could blame It on the nock  :)

Been shooting the GT's for a long time.   When I get them now,  I switch out the nocks with Easton Super 3-D nocks.   I only started doing this after the "problems" they had and report of,  a few years back or whatever.  I never personally had a problem with ANY GT nock,  when I used to shoot the ones that came with the shafts.  These days, I continue to replace the stock GT nocks with the Easton nocks simply because I like them a little better.  They are a tad longer and stick out past the string a bit more when nocked....and I just like that.

I've shot BigJim's GT 3555s for a couple years.

Both blems and #1s with 0 probs .

I do make my strings to fit the nocks and never pinch or heat on them.....
Stay sharp, Kenny.

I shoot gold tip nocks with no issues...I've smacked them when shooting a tight group and they never have broke. I will change them out just in case when this happens as you always should just to be safe.

i am reminded of the " bass pro's" who use a sponsors lure but always change out the hooks.
i have shot GT's for yrs w/o any problems with the nocks, that is other than the occasional loose fitting one.
