2015 Bear Hunt Update- Russell Outdoor Guiders
« on: December 24, 2014, 04:56:00 PM »
As many of you know our 2015 Canada bear camp filled up well before we completed the 2014 bear camp. We were blessed with a fantastic bear season and had some tradgangers put down some great bears.  I had many of you contact me for 2014 spots but with a limited number of tags and being 100% booked, there just wasn't much I could do but start a stand-by list.  I cut that list off at 8 people because I didn't want to give a large number of you unreasonable hope. Several of you asked to be added to that list after we closed it.

Well, I pushed hard for a higher allocation and managed to get EVERYONE on the standby list a spot in our 2015 camp. I now feel comfortable adding a few people back on the stand-by list. I do not anticipate any more tags but there are always a couple of folks that will have life throw them a curve.

Right now we are booked with about 70% Trad Gang members. This percentage goes up every year. As with most great bear camps we rebook our clients at about a 75% rate. This leaves very few "new" openings from year to year and we are always 100% booked for the next year before we ever leave bear camp. I say this just to let you know that calling just after we return will most likely leave you without the chance to book for the following spring.  This is the case with most all quality bear camps. Out goal in the near future is to book strictly within the Trad Gang family.

So, were we stand is that we are taking a few names for stand by for 2015 and regular bookings for 2016.  We hope to see many of you in camp in 2015 and 2016. We truly have GIANT bears and understand what it takes to make the hunt for a traditional archer.

Jerry,
How time flys can't believe we are that close already but of course as always looking forward to another great bear hunt in Canada for 2015,
I can honestly say that the past two seasons were by far the best hunts I've ever been on.. Somehow you have managed to ensure that everyone is dealt with on a one on one basis and made each persons hunt as personal to them as any! Everything from camp time and telling stories of distant hunts, the management of getting everyone on baits that are active with nice bears and the care that you take to ensure each
person is taken care of 100%
On another note I'm looking to get my bear skull scored from this year as it has had its drying period completed so if someone on here knows of a Pope and Young scorer that would be in the vicinity of South East Atlanta Butts county area
drop me a line.

Man, I am one of the fortunate souls who gets to go back in 2014! My experience last year was top shelf. The beauty of the Mastagouche Wilderness is just amazing. I could not believe the scenery. It seemed like we were in the Smokies or the Hills of Eastern Kentucky.

*Falls

I had 3 sits and saw 17 different bears, including the one I scared. I grazed a shoulder and he lived to fight another day.

*Stud with a lady friend.

So I am going back for more. You won't find a better guide/friend than Jerry or a more beautiful place. Not to mention bears...big 'ol blackies! I can't wait and I get to share the experience with a couple of other Tradgang guys.  Only 6 months to wait  :)

Good to see you guys are excited about the camp. Jerry tells that we are staying in a larger camp this year. Talked with Brucker and he's excited about it also. Another trad guy from Atlanta will be going with us for the first time. It want be long..
