Kershaw Knockout
« on: December 24, 2014, 05:49:00 PM »
Really pleasently surprised by this knife.  Folder with assited open and made in USA.  Light weight aluminum handle and good DP blade that takes and holds a scary sharp edge.  It made short work of the 60# sow I shot a few weeks ago, cleaned and skinned.  Great daily carry knife and a very good working knife, well worth the $79.99 that Academy sells them for.

Thanks for the heads up.  I like that style of knife, but get a little frustrated cleaning the gunk out of them after a butchering job.  You texas guys get more experience butchering those hogs than I do.  :goldtooth:

pdk25: I just get a small pan of water boiling, place the knife in the sink and then slowly pour the water over the whole knife with blade open.  Works perfectly.

I love the blade shape on that Kershaw and fact that its USA made.  It'll be a toss up between this and the Esee Izula II until I decided whether I want a fixed or folding blade for my next field dress knife someday.
