Heavy Hunter Shafts

Hey fellow Trad Shooters! I am still on the quest to find the perfect arrow for my bow and while looking at some 3rivers archery shafts i looked at the Byron Ferguson Heavy Hunter shafts by Gold Tip. I noticed that the .500 spine is 32.5"inches long while every other gold tip .500 spine shaft is only 30". I shoot a Moded Samick Journey 56lb at 30.25 inches.
I was wondering if the length of these arrows would finally allow me to shoot this .500 spine. The Heavy hunter shafts in .500 are. 13.1 grains at full length. I plan on using an aluminum broadhead adapter 22gr and a aluminum nock adapter 12gr with a bohning glue on nock to give the look of a true traditional wood arrow along with a bohning cap wrap and 5.5 inch feathers im hoping to shoot a 125-160 grain field point and later broadhead . Do you guys think this would spine right?
Thanks in Advance you guys are always helpfull

.500s may be a bit weak at that weight and draw length. Does 3 rivers offer a test package in HHs? Would be nice to try .500s and .400s.

Yes they do.

Yes they do offer a test pack. Would it be best to order one pf those and a field point test kit?

Shaft test kit is a good idea. Field point test kit would cover all the bases and probably also be useful down the line to tune other bow/arrow combinations, but if you have a small range of field points now, could probably do without it. Good luck.

I would call Big Jim and ask him. I think it was on here I saw those shafts are stiffer than what they say. He would know. I have also seen some made into arrows. Heavy, like the heavier alum shafts are, not just tip heavy like regular carbons.
Shafts are same diameter as regular carbons but wall thickness is more.

Big Jim sells the HH as single shafts if you want to buy a couple of each 500 & 400 and you wont have to buy the the 320 that will probably come in the test pack...doubt you'll need that one.

Easton Full Metal Jackets are 31 inches for the 500 spine and 31.5 inches for the 400...you might want to take a look at them as well...Big Jim is a great source for the FMJ too...heck, Big Jim is a great source for a lot of things...the dynamic spine required will depend a lot on what type of string you have on that bow and Jim can help you with that as well
