1965 58" Bear Grizzly Draw Max?
« on: January 11, 2015, 07:54:00 PM »
Hello All,
I need to find out what the max draw length for 58" Bear Grizzly would be. The bow looks to be in great shape, but I have a 30" draw length and I don't want to tear up a piece of history. I would love to shoot and hunt with the bow if y'all give me a thumbs up.
Thanks,
Ben

I've heard of lots of guys pulling 30" on a 58" grizzly. Mixed reviews on stack but I Dont think you need to worry about damaging the bow. May not be the most comfortable bow to shoot for your though.
I'd rather be judged by 12 then carried by 6

I draw mine 29 inches, I think 30 would be OK.

I think guys on the history forum may better answer the question.

Good Luck... Great Bows!

Too Funny. Although I think you would be fine I would like it if a few more people backed it up before you jump.

The theory behind my sending him here was that he will gain access to a larger sample. That has already borne fruit, and I'm quite sure he'll get a basketful of personal testimonials here in no time.

I agree with everything Charlie (Cyclic-Rivers) said.  I also draw mine 29".

If it's a lefty and you're worried about it...just send it to me.  I will take care of it

When I (re)started out in traditional I was drawing 29" (28.5" now that my form has settled in) on my Grizzly, no problems at all - can't imagine 1 more inch would be too much of a problem; it didn't stack for me but never tried playing with it past there just for fun.

I only draw 28" to my normal anchor, but it's no problem to draw my 52" K-Mag back to at least 29", although it starts to stack around there. I can't imagine a 58" Grizzly in good condition having a problem with 30". You might, but probably not the bow.

Must be older is better. I draw 31 and found most later Bears designs to stack pretty hard after 28 or so.   Joshua
