Opinions on Kiowa Recurve
« on: January 25, 2015, 05:14:00 PM »
I was just on the Kustom King website and there's a sale on LH Kiowa 52" Recurves.

Anyone know about these bows? They're listed in the Bearpaw inventory.

Been eyeballing these myself.  They look like Bearpaw/Bodnik's interpretation of a KMag.  Pete Ward is a fan.  He gives positive reviews to most of their stuff though LOL.  But I trust Pete pretty well.  Good people.

I, like you Tom, have not seen much press on these out on the web.  From the pics I have seen they do appear to be decently made.  Its not like the current Gainesville Bears are 100% flawless, but they are certainly well done and shoot great.  I'm sure its similar with these.

You should snag one and do a review eh?   ;)

Two of my buddies have them, they are smooth pulling and fast little bows. Henry who is the owner of Bear paw archery did a test where he stood on one limb and bent the bow all the way back then strung it up and shot it just to show how tough they are. He is a very nice guy and offers a great warrenty.

They have a 30 year warranty, I believe.

I just sold (pending funds) my Shrew and am considering options. The reason for my question is because I'm thinking about a KMag to go with my 2 Grizzlies. This DOES look like them.
I'll check to see if Pete did a review. My "reviewer  status" is questionable, but the price is pretty good - $399.00.

Where are they made?

Made Germany far as I know Tom.  Can't be a bad thing Lol.  I do like the idea of phenolic in the handle.  Helps on the shorter bows.  I'm glad Jay chose to take the Lil' Fav', I think he will love it.
