New to me bow - Kajikastik recurve
«

Hi guys,
I had been trying to get my hands on another Whisperstik and finally got what I was after. It's a Kajikastik 56" 51#@28 recurve bow made by JD Lund. This is his standard model gray actionwood bow. This bow came to me from Alaska. It has "Maddog" written on the non-shooting side of the riser but no other name from the original owner. I'm curious if this belonged to someone here at one time. Perhaps "Mike VanBuren"...he posted a very similar if not identical bow here at one time.
If anyone knows or has any information whether this bow is center cut or cut past center, any specs would be great if you are familiar with this model. I would like to try to get as close as I can with Stu's calculator before I start on some arrows.
Thanks!

I can't help with your question but I'd like to see some pics of this bow!

I have had an email in to him for a while but no resonse yet so I thought I would try here. This bow seemed fairly popular for a bit so I figured someone else might know.
Let me see if I can figure out how to upload some pics on here.

As of a few months ago he said he was taking a break. Busy doing things with his kids. Can't fault a guy for that, matter of fact, worthy of praise.

I just asked him, he said its cut to CENTER. He's got a new job and is working a lot, and not building much. We talk quite a bit, he lives nearby. I have a Kajika, nice bow.

I have had every model J.D. has made and the Kajika is a great bow. If you ever get a wild hair to let that one go let me know please.

I'm sure that was the bow I owned because I remember the grain pattern. I did not write "Maddog" on the side though. That bow is quick and quiet. I had one bow I liked more so I sold it. I think the bow is cut 1/8" past center.
