I hunt the same way you are planning. Stand on your back, hike to spot, set up and hunt, take everything down, and carry out on your back.
  This is the best method I have found and the only way i hunt. You will love doing it this way. you will find that you will have 100 good spots to hunt rather than 5-10. Now that you are going to hunt this way scout, scout, and scout some more. Get a note pad and log every potential stand site you find while scouting. Log good and bad wind options at each along with enter and exit routes. By the time the season rolls around you will have a ton of spots. then all you have to do during the season is look at the weather, look at your log, pick a spot, hike in, kill critter, hike out, eat fresh backstraps!

I seem to be in the minority on this topic. But as with a couple of others here, I practice with a loaded quiver and leave it on at all times. I want that next arrow within inches as I have had more than one follow-up shot. Wont' go in to the reasons why but I'm sure y'all can guess. Also don't want to miss any opportunities while entering or exiting my stand site. I personally don't have any problem with shot placement with/without quiver attached. Guess I'm lucky in that regard.

I did just what you are talking about for many seasons but I used a Kwikee Kwiver. I even mounted a spare kwik attach bracket to all of my loc-on stands and my climber. It is a tried and true system. Climb up get settled in pull your bow up, detach the quiver and attach it to your stand, nock an arrow and get ready.
