I have a TallTines recurve on the way, but my next bow will be a 2piece Whip from Toelke. Fantastic shooting bows and that bow bolt takedown he has is ingenious

I'll throw a vote in for Cari-bow. Love the handle, the beavertail grip option is well worth it. I have a featherhorn coming shortly, but I know Abe makes a number of small, radical R/D bows. If you're not entirely set upon longbow, the Tuktu is one heck of a nice shooting recurve.

I second and third Big Jim's Bow Cimpany. If you're most interested in a short longbow I'd have a look at Jim's Thunderchild. It's a real sweet shooter and the craftsmanship is top notch. Jim's quality and prices are beyond reasonable. The Buffalo is super sick too.

You described a Bigfoot Yeti to the T. Check them out and read the write-ups on them.
God bless, Steve

And yet another nod to Dan Toelke...
The Whip is an absolutely sweet shooting bow. So, is the Chinook recurve, and the Kestral!
He is a great guy to talk with. Just give him a call and he will talk with you as long as you want.

I'm on the list for a new centaur. Tried one out back in November and fell in love with the grip and the way the bow shoots. can't wait.

Whip classic, Leon Slammer, Java Elkheart. If I had to pick one, it would be the Whip Classic

nineworlds9 knows what he is talking about.
I like his suggestions.
Also consider the RER Vortex, Leon Stewart Slammer, Jim Reynolds Thundersitck or MOAB, and the Dwyer Endeavor.

I'll add that the Thunderstick Mag may be the best in this field if price is an issue. GREAT bow for the price
