can I change draw length?
«

I have a 62" 50lb 28" recurve. My length of pull is 29", can I put a longer string on this bow to lengthen the pull?
I am not trying to be cheap, I just dont have money for a different bow.
Thanks

Don't need to do nothing but pull it farther, it won't hurt it and the weight will go to 53lbs at 29".

Thats one of the nice things about a recurve or longbow....No stop for the draw length...Just start shooting it. one inch shouldn't matter at all.
BTW if your just getting into traditional bows you may shoot a while and check your drawlength again. You may be supprized how it differs from a compound. Form makes all the difference in getting all the length you can.

Woodsman. the markings you describe are simply standards. That is. unless the bow is made specifically for an individual with a shorter or longer draw, the bow will typically be described as ...so many pounds at 28". You can draw more or less. Your bow, if it was made for you with your known draw of 29", might have been described as 53# at 29". Shoot it and enjoy.
