Inserts for Easton PLatinum XX75 1916 Shafts
«

Hey guys,
I have some Easton 1916 shafts and at the moment I am using Aluminum RPS inserts. I was wondering if there are any other type of inserts that I could use with these shafts (steel, brass, higher weight, longer, etc.). Also, is there a way to tell what inserts would fit what shaft? It just doesn't seem like any of the inserts I see have a specific description of what shaft size they fit in. Any info on inserts would be appreciated.

Are you wanting a heavier insert weight? Kustom King has a insert,PDP adjustable converta point insert. It's an aluminum insert that will accept add on weights like GT weights to it.Other then that you would need to modify an insert to fit.I have take the standard 5/16" brass inserts and modified them to fit other arrows like a CE Heritage 90.I mounted a blunt in a drill, spun on the insert and spin and file down to fit.May work for and aluminum like a 1916.

Thanks for the info. Yes, basically I am trying to find ways to increase FOC. I don't necessarily need a heavier insert, as much as I need a different looking insert. I have been messing around with gluing nails into the RPS inserts, but I'd like to be able to fool around with different inserts that may have a larger whole/more space at the bottom so that I could fit thicker/longer nails into.

You could use the inserts that are threaded on both ends and get some screws that fit and cut off the heads. I used to do that. I even bought a 3 foot length of rod at home store that works. You really have to secure the nails, screws to the inserts because you will hear noise when you shoot. The longer the weight the more noise from the vibration of the arrow when you shoot it. I tried this approach a number of years ago with alum shafts then with carbons. Just to much noise. These days with the variety of field point and broadhead weights I do not bother.

An insert threaded on both ends is exactly the type of thing I'm looking for, but cannot seem to find them. The only insert I can find that will definitely fit 1916s are the RPS inserts. Where can I find the double threaded inserts?
