Heavy Hunter ?
« on: March 07, 2015, 05:56:00 PM »
Hi gang. I'm getting ready to order some blems from Big Jim and was wondering if the standard 100 grain brass inserts will work in these.
Thanks for the help.

Yes, they are 5/16 i believe and so are the GT. Just tell Big Jim  and he will fix you right up.

Also ask him about his hot melt for your arrows. If you go on his site he has a video on how to apply it. The glue works great and very easy to use.

I believe the Heavy Hunter's use a different insert, they list a 100 gr. stainless steel insert available for them? And you can use the GT add-on weights to these stainless steel inserts.Maybe the brass inserts will work also?

Big Jim knows what they will take. Just ask him.

They take any of the gold tip .246 inserts ...and that is all their weighted inserts and the acculite's .
The od of the shaft is ever so slightly larger than all the inserts except the 100g stainless. If you take a finger nail file or sandpaper, you can chamfer the edge of the shaft and it will all work fine.

thanks, bigjim

The 500 spine come with 100 grain inserts. At least mine did.
