I just "happened" to stop by the Toelkes shop to say hello to Dan and Jared, with absolutely no intention of looking at and definitely not shooting any bows!     :bigsmyl:

The Toelke's make great bows!  I have a 58" R/D Whip that Dan made with a bacote riser and creape myrtle veneers.  Needless to say the bow is beautiful, and the best part---it shoots as good as it looks---no hand shock and dead quiet---I have not been able to shoot it around anyone yet that can't help commenting on how quiet that bow is.  Congrats on your new purchase Elkchaser and wishing you many hunts with your new Chinook!

Thanks guys. You are right, Toelkes are great shooters. The Toelkes themselves are even better than their bows. Great guys!!

I loved my chinook but I had the classic grip and wish I would have got the standard grip.

I did go with the standard grip.
It just fits. For me at least.

The Chinook is the best hunting recurve I have ever owned. Mine is bacote and myrtle. I remember thinking it was going to be twitchy and hard to hold steady before I first shot it. It still amazes me how steady it feels for its light mass weight. The entire draw curve feels right and it is very quiet.

Got mine about 2 wks ago. 52#@29" on mine scales,t/d with standard grip like it a lot. Toss up between mine t/d Whip and the Chinook. One of them go where I go so nice to shoot.

Thanks for the confirmations.
I'm really looking forward to it and know I will love the shooting characteristics.    :archer2:

Being close enough to drop in on a master bowyer is blessing, but clearly, one you might have to pay for!
