Stiffer Carbons than CX 350s
« on: March 31, 2015, 09:52:00 AM »
Hi!

I have very unusual problem... I was struggling with my arrows until I found out that they actually were too weak.
My arrows are currently 31" CX 350s with 250gr upfront with 2" alum footing. They are flying very well out of my [email protected]" bow...
I'm about to get 65# limbs soon and I really like that front weight and length.
So, is there are stiffer all carbon shaft available? Or do I have to cut my arrows shoter :/

Three Rivers .300 Traditional Only shafts maybe? I don't know what the deflection is on a CX. But I think it's .340? About the same weight.
Gold tip changed their 75/95 to a .340.

If the 300 spine carbons are not stiff enough there is Easton Dangerous Game FMJ 250 or Gold Tip Kinetic 200 spine.

The standard Arrow Dynamics shafts would be perfect for you.

I'll bet they work. I went from cx350 to maiuma blue streaks because of shaft weight they are 350. They work great from 51 lbs up to 59lbs at my draw lea got. 260 gr heads,100gr brass imcert and 1 1/2" footing. I see where the RMSG guys are shooting Cx maxima Reds on their hog hunt.

Arrow Dynamics traditionals and hammer heads rate at .275 on a spine tester but due to the taper they are probably closer to a .300 or .320 like the CX 350. I do know CX makes the piledriver shaft in a 450 series but I don't know what the spine rating is. Your only other options are basically to go with dangerous game shaft though.

If you can't find a shop in Finland I know 3 rivers archery carries them and for a pretty decent price. I don't know what the international shipping is though because I have never had to deal with it but the folks at 3 rivers are as friendly as they come and will help you out as best they can. I like the AD shafts and use them a lot. They are super tough and shoot great out of basically any bow.

Victory VForce HV .300's are another option.

I'm using a Black Eagle Rampage 250 spine with 430 grains up front out of my Big Jim Buffalo that's 77lbs at my draw length. Seem like very tough arrows so far!
