String tracker question
« on: March 31, 2015, 09:27:00 PM »
Anybody use one with wood arrows? If so how are you attaching the string? I'm thinking about trying one on hogs and see how I like it. If all is well I'll take one bear hunting this fall.

I'm using a piece of black elec. tape. Just tape the string in place against the wood with end of string towards feathers, wrap the tape once around arrow and back over the string again so string is between tape. No knots needed. Seems to work pretty well for me.

Put a 1/4" piece of self stick velcro(the loop part, not the rug part) around the shaft right behind the insert. The. Just wrap the string around and the loops will catch and hold it.

Bisch, next time I see you would you show me where the inserts are on my Ash arrows?  Bwahahaha!

But he's right, I stick a small piece of the loop side of velcro around the shaft right behind the broadhead and wrap the string a couple of times.  Have only test shot this numerous times.....no arrows sent towards a Turkey in the last couple of years.
