Byrd Built Arrows
« on: April 02, 2015, 07:20:00 PM »
Recently I ran across a set of "Byrd Built" wood arrows. They were made by Kenneth Byrd from down around Spring Lake, NC. He was a gifted arrow smith and I believe that he won several awards with his arrows. I remember seeing a set of his arrows once with real snakeskin wrapping. It appeared that he had cut the shafts down slightly on a lathe so that the snakeskin wouldn't be above the surface of the wood. This is before the synthetic wraps became popular. Anyone else familiar with these arrows?
