If you had to pick one from of the three bowyers to make you a Yew selfbow who would you pick?
1) Ted Fry Raptor Archery
2) Jay St.Charles Pacific Yew Longbows
3) Jim Rempp Hamstring Archery

I have never heard a bad word concerning any of them but Jim Rempp made me a Yew Selfbow that is a jewel.

I'm going to add a name for your list, if you don't mind.  I've had several John Strunk (Tillamook, Oregon) yew bows that were outstanding to shoot and beautifully made. A great guy too! Horserod

One of my close friends is actually meeting with Jim Rempp soon to learn about making selfbows...there are a couple of well know bowyers who own a bunch of his bows...one of these days I will make a trip to Mr. Bert Frelink's house to try out the yew bow he made from a workshop John Strunk has at the North American Longbow Safari...I have no doubt the workmanship is the equal of John's...we are very fortunate to have so many great bowyers building great selfbows

I set out a while ago to reduce my herd of 40 bows...And I am finally down to 42

Looking at the various pics I could find from these craftsmen, has me thinking that I should get back to that yew that I have been working on.

I have owned three different John Strunk ELB's, including one made of Yew built for Al Reader that I sorely regret selling, all were worthy of being portrayed in a legend or fairy tale, such was the level of art and attention to detail in them.  John is a MASTER.

The list you posted, well you can't go wrong with any of them.  Get one of each!  Ted builds a fine bow to be sure.

Ted built me an Osage flatbow in 2003. All I can say is that he was great to work with and the bow is still going strong. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.

I was on the list to attend John's class at NALS when it was in Courtney BC in 2013.  I had to cancel due to my son needing medical care, and time and money could not be afforded to attend the class.  I hope I can attend one in the future.

Of the list you provided I would select Jay St. Charles.  That being said however I doubt you can go wrong with any of the names mentioned above.
But be sure you live out the message and do not merely listen to it and so deceive yourself - James 1:22

I'd go with John Strunk, simply because he's been doing it for so long....and, he made me a Yew selfbow in 1989 and I killed my largest Blacktail buck with it in 1990. I retired the bow after that and haven't hunted with it since.
