Are overspined arrows ok?

Question:  will overspined arrows shoot well from a selfbow?  It seems that many guys shoot arrows that are overspined.  If you go strictly by a spine chart, you would need to change arrows if you changed from 125 to 150 gr heads for example.
I realize that an underspined arrow won't work, but what about overspined?

Overspined arrows can be shot from many bows; once arrows are fletched they will forgive any number of sins, 10# one way or the other and 50 grains of point weight can easily go undetected. The only way to really know for sure is to shoot them. Bows too can be tolerant or critical; luckily for us there is still a lot more art to this business than science.

I myself prefer an arrow that bare shafts slightly weak as when fletched it will stiffen slightly. I think underspined arrows fly better than over spined ones as long as they are not way underspined. Shawn

If your bow is cut to center shot, the spine won't make a huge difference. If not, the arrow needs to bend around the riser. If it is too stiff, it will shoot left (for a righty) even with fletching. Still, you could adjust for it and probably hit what you shoot at, but it will be tricky.

Going from 125 to 150 would weaken the spine, but may or may not be enough to make a difference. In a longbow/selfbow, it probably wouldn't make a huge difference.
