New to me Grayling Spirit
« on: April 28, 2015, 05:51:00 PM »
Before you get on me over the lack of pictures understand I just want to shoot this bow so much I don't have time to take pictures.
Lately I have become obsessed with bows that I consider vintage or classic, bows sporting a classic look, may not have the exotic woods that I can't even pronounce their names right or let you know where the tree grows that they are made from. Either way I'm hooked on the classy looks. So I have moved most of my bows, 1 more to go and I have been lucky to pick up a couple of sweethearts, a 69 Super Kodiak and a Howard Hill Centennial. But when I got to shoot the Grayling Spirit it's no wonder the 59 Kodiak is so sought after and worshipped. This is a copy of that bow and for what it's worth, I have never shot anything better. My lord this bow makes it look easy. So my hats off to the Classic's, they can still Rock !!!
I'll try and get pics up tomorrow.

I haven't shot one in years but when John McCullough was making them for Ron Laclair's shop I did and you're right they're great shooting bows. My daughter has an original 59 Kodiak that I shoot from time to time. We're blessed with some great bows past and present.

I've got a Kodiak Special.  I think '58 or so.  Wrong-handed.  Shot it a little but I tend to poke holes in the wrong things shooting wrong-handed.
