TLC for a glass laminated longbow

The other day I started thinking about what (if any) you need to do to keep the bow in perfect condition. I mean, does it need waxing, varnishing or something after a while. My bow isn't old, just a little over six month, but still. Asked Bearpaw and got this answer:
" You don’t have to care for this bow.
All our Bodnik Bows are layered with fiber glass and are lacquered.
So it’s protected against weather and dirt.
After a few years it could be that the polish is consumed on some places.
Then you can send us the bow to put on a new polish."
So, really - no maintenance?   :confused:

Aside from string maintenance I just wipe it down if it gets dusty or dirty after I hunt. I'd say for most well built bows the finish is pretty tough so wiping it down is purely aesthetics. Of course, any doo-dads need up-keep if you use them, strike plate (rarely), rest (rarely), string groove silencer pads, string silencers, etc. But yeah, pretty easy upkeep.

I use "Howard's Feed and Wax" maybe twice a year. If bow has gotten wet I wipe it down a remove string to completely dry the nocks. The nocks get the most wear and would be a great place for moisture to get in. I also rewax the string just because. But I am retired and little maintaince jobs keep me off the street.

I wipe down with paper towels after they get wet that's it,,, I'm too worried about putting something on the bow that has a stink even if I can't smell it everything has a smell.  I have bows here that are almost 30yrs old and no probs yet.

It's best not to throw it down the side of a mountain but I've tried that a couple of times with my bow.
