I've often dreamt of something along that line, Michael. It also would come in handy in yer mummy bag when camping on cold nights. I usually do carry my "bottle" (because of my above noted deficiency) but I forgot to stick it in my vest that morning. It might have made the difference in time - but it probably just wasn't meant to be. I do love close calls as opposed to no sightings though.

Bernie, you have my highest regards just for getting out there. Hope if I make it to that age I am still getting it like you do. Kudos!!
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

Good to see your post, Bernie!  There was an obvious absence of late it seems...or I'm not as sharp eyed as usual...

Sorry to read about the blind.  Thieves abound in all areas of life I guess... bummer.

I agree that a close encounter trumps a dead woods sit anytime... regardless of outcome!

Keeps the ole ticker humming! Great story!
The words "Child" and "terminal illness" should never share the same sentence! Those who care-do, others question!

Thank you, Tom and thanks to my old friend, Doc Nock, now a resident of a great new home place in beautiful Tenn. (He sent me pictures).  :wavey:
