YES I WAS WONDERING WHAT EVERYONE THOUGHT WOULD BE A BETTER HUNTING ARROW, ALUMINUM OR CARBON ARROWS FOR A 50LB RECURVE.

I can't say if they're better but I really like GT Traditional carbon arrows. I buy GT Blems from Big Jim's, I guess I'm cheap. On a serious note, I can't find the blemishes 95% of the time and they shoot great.

I used aluminum arrows in the past without any complaints. I guess in the end a well tuned arrow with a sharp broadhead will work every time.

I shoot shoot Gold Tip trads too, and really like them. I like the ruggedness of carbon arrows over the others, but that's just me.

Carbon.... they are either dead straight or broken... Aluminum arrows can be bent in the field a lot easier than you think.

I like the Easton Axis shafts. Easier for me to tune. LB and Recurve. I use the 500 spine.

Wood is GOOD!!!!!  

I prefer carbons because they do not bend, but either is just as good, if they are well tuned!

Truth be told,  I never shot a carbon arrow til I started shooting stick bows again about 8 years ago.  For quite a spell,  I shot high tech/high dollar wheel bows and the only thing I shot out of them were the best aluminum shafts.  Although they were super accurate,  they cannot compare to the durability of carbon!  (and the accuracy is there too)  Although I love the romance of woodies and still shoot them too,  the carbon shaft is the best thing since sliced bread for the stick bow shooter!  This is my opinion.

X3 but inserts can be bent too, I'm loving GT Kinetics with a one inch footing on them. I rarely have to refletch arrows because I either break them or lose them before the fletchings are bad. I like shooting the long shots at my club and hit the metal target stand and or hit rocks when I miss the target, either way they get broke. I have bent some field points but have only ruined one arrow and an having to refletch several of them. They seem to be tougher than most and the .400 spine are fairly heavy at 9.5gpi.

It depends on a few factors. Some of my bows shoot aluminum better. Others carbon. And last but least wood. Cost also plays a factor. Aluminum and wood are cheaper than carbon.  I am in the panhandle with its wind and no cover I shoot which combination concerning the weather conditions. If in a tree stand where there are trees I use aluminum. If stalking mulies in the sage or Milo I use carbon. I assume you are in Osage county so have diverse habitat so use what works best for you.
